I want you to imagine moving forward, walking, running, skipping. I pictured it like doing hopscotch, follow the steps and count the numbers. As we take these steps in life, we jump here to two, and then to the next square - three, making progress - and then sometimes we trip. We fall. Looking down we see that we're back to square one. But that's okay, we get back up and keep going!
Jump forward, another step, annnddd on the ground again. We stumble to our feet again, seeing that we're back to square one.
Marching forward, one step, two step, three step - getting somewhere now - and then something comes up. Back to square one. Exasperated, we try to look back and see what happened, where did all our progress go, why are we not getting anywhere. But as we wildly turn around to trace our steps we face God. He's standing right behind us, right with us.
"God, why when I take the wrong path am I back to square one? What is happening?Don't you care that I've done all of this wrong? I keep ending up at the start again, what about all the progress, even though some was in the wrong direction?"
"My child, your past does not define you. Why are you turning around? You aren't being shoved back to square one, this is an opportunity to start fresh. Let's keep moving forward together. We go from where you are now, with Me."
