It's amazing how God shows Himself in everything He creates. There is so much beauty and wonder to be found around us, and He longs to teach us through what He has created! One thing that God kept pressing on my heart this year has been what we can learn from TREES. I thought it was random at first, but He kept showing me little bits of wisdom that can be taken from them, so of course I am sharing with you too :)) It's a bit of a notes-app dump, so take what you need:

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when the heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV

Advice from a tree

  • Stand tall and proud

  • Go out on a limb

  • Reach for the sky

  • Adapt to change

  • Branch out

  • Stay grounded

  • Remember your roots

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Get rid of dead wood

  • Be confident

  • Never stop growing

  • Bend before you break

  • Turn over a new leaf

  • Enjoy the view

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5 NIV

3 Ways to be like a tree

  • Always grow towards the light

  • Have deep roots (Ephesians 3)

  • In maturity we can provide a refuge for others

We are called to bear fruit each according to its own kind. We will not all have the same callings, skills, talents, and perspectives. How boring would the world be if we only had apple trees?! (1 Corinthians 12)

"He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper." Psalms 1:3 NKJV

Need. Good. Roots. Without good roots, you'll fall, you won't have sustenance, and you won't be strong. Ground yourself, and make sure you pray for God to keep your heart strong. 'If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.' Drench yourself in His Words, the truth, the one steady thing.

A tree is only prosperous above the surface if it is prosperous below! We only flourish in God outwardly to the extent that we flourish when no one is looking. Time with just you and Him!

When you choose to actively listen to what God is telling you, you'll find that He isn't as silent as He may seem! He won't always speak audibly to us, but He has put so much into the world that you can learn from. 'Keep learning through yearning.'

Comment below some things God has been teaching you this year! Would love to hear it ♡
