What can make a heart feel whole?
When we turn to the world for this, we always come back empty. The world won't support you, it will tell you to look out for yourself. But the problem with that is that it tells everyone else to do the same thing.
Love from the world doesn't satisfy.
Hope from the world is empty.
Peace from the world is hard to come by - the chaos keeps coming.
Happiness from the world doesn't last.
Struggling to achieve the perfect body won't fulfil that need. The adrenaline rushes that you busy yourself with don't fulfil that need. All of the money or clothes don't last - there can always be more to be had. Searching for euphoria through substances will leave you feeling emptier than when you started. You can't find purpose in the world, because it says that you came by chance, and eventually you'll leave. Pretty sad, right? That's what happens when we look at the world for answers.
Love from God will satisfy.
(John 4.13-14)
Hope from God is for an eternal future with no pain.
(Jeremiah 29.11)
Peace from God transcends all understanding.
(Philippians 4.7)
Happiness can be found in a more real sense through God - joy!
(Psalm 16.11)
You probably don't know what your purpose is, like THE purpose, right? You know that God has a plan, but it's hard to see what it will look like in your life. I can't tell you what His unique calling for you is, but you can hold onto the ultimate goals that He has for humanity:
God says to make Heaven crowded! Make disciples of the nations (Matthew 28.19). The story of the Gospels bring hope, and a purpose of love, and we are called to share that with the world. They say that sometimes we are the only Bibles people may read in their lives, so act like it!
I heard a quote that was something along the lines of 'If God can create the human heart, He can mend it too.' If your heart is feeling cracked, or broken, or absolutely shattered, you are not alone. Please remember that, and though it may not look like how you expect, only God can fulfil your every need. If you need security, lean on the only steady One. If you want to be comforted, He is there. His love will not fail you like the world's will. ♡
